Ellen Coup

A Painter, practising her trade in the Wellington region for 20 years, Ellen holds a Diploma of Art and Craft design from Whitireia Community Polytechnic. She design’s and paint’s Mural’s & other Artwork, predominantly on commission. She has lived on the Kapiti Coast since 2010. Ellen has worked on over 40 seperate projects, Indoor & Outdoor, Public & Private, Large & Small, Representational & Stylised, Signage, hand painted wallpaper & two Greek gods. Noteable Artist Designed & Painted Works, that are fully accessible to the public, are the, 169msq “Cable Car Mural”, Kumatoto Lane 2016, the 58.4msq “Weta to Orca” Mural at 559 Adeliade Road 2013 and the, 150msq, Civic Trust award winning, “Seawall” Mural in Oriental Bay which Ellen re-did in 2014, ten years after she originally painted the ‘environment’ on the wall, to which other Artist’s painted plywood cut-outs were attached.

Some of her projects have been ‘Facilitated Artworks’, working with groups of adults or children, in a variety of ways to present the Artwork of others, or enabling them to paint Murals. She has also done a number of projects in WCC housing facilities. A ‘Commission Specialist’, Ellen engages with clients using a series of consultations & drawings interpreting the commissioning parties aspirations for their surface, in her own range of styles. She paints her Murals with brushes and Exterior Acrylic.
